With bullet holes smattered across the side of the building and a coroner's letter describing exactly how they got there, it’s believed that the gun shot victim haunts the Pioneer to this day. And he’s not the only one; the spirit of an old miner also calls the Pioneer home. Both ghosts have been spotted by staff and visitors many times in the past.
