Description

Explore historic Downtown Las Vegas with this 90-minute guided walking tour through some of Las Vegas' most iconic locations. Meet up at the Mob Museum and spend the morning with your knowledgeable guide as you trace the history of this enigmatic city following in the footsteps of legends and innovative culture builders. Trek through 10 blocks of living history on the famed Fremont Street, the place where it all began, to learn how Las Vegas transformed from a small western railroad town in the middle of the Mojave Desert into the great mega resort entertainment metropolis of today. Step into Glitter Gulch and marvel at the most expansive collection of historic neon signs that still exist on the planet - from the Googie inspired Binion's Gambling Hall sign with its 8 miles of neon to the legendary cowboy character known as Vegas Vic. Discover Fremont Street as a lively 5-block long pedestrian mall topped by the largest electronic video screen in the world called the Fremont Street Experience, an electric urban environment that's become known as the great performance street of America. See where Frank Sinatra once performed, the casino once owned by infamous mobster Bugsy Siegel, the first ever pawn shop in Vegas, the birthplace of the World Series of Poker, the bar that inspired the movie Coyote Ugly, and the casino hotel made famous in Back to the Future. Enjoy hidden gems off the beaten track like the billiard table that once belonged to Winston Churchill, a slab of the Berlin Wall ensconced in the Men's Rest Room of a hotel, and the charming 1930s hotel that hosts the city's first elevator. Finally, journey into Downtown's newest neighborhood, an entrepreneur arts district with eclectic restaurants, cool bars, interesting shops, expansive murals and a host of festivals annually. After checking out the famed Praying Mantis fire sculpture at Container Park, the tour concludes with a complimentary cocktail or beverage at the legendary El Cortez Hotel of Bugsy Siegel fame with a toast to Las Vegas and a salute to the adventure of travel.
